| Chris Craft Boats |
It all began over 100 years ago in Algonac, Michigan. Christopher Columbus Smith built his first boat in 1874, aged 13. He built a simple lake boat for duck hunting. He had a natural talent for working with wood to create the right design. It wasn't long before Chris and his brother Hank began to build a succession of wooden boats. A new company was established and a legend was born. Chris-Craft is one of the world's most renowned and universally recognized names in boat building. Although Chris Craft has seen better days, they still built some real nice fiberglass models, and of course if your looking for a little piece of American Heritage, the older models are sure beautiful. If you have ever experienced the ride and comfort of a wooden boat, you know there is no better or smoother ride than a classic Chris Craft.
